Accessibility audit (chaipat.cc)

Article
From Chaipat's knowledge graph

The accessibility audit in tests/audit.mjs checks every main page of chaipat.cc on a desktop, on a phone and in dark mode, with Playwright driving a real browser, and writes reports/audit.md.

What it checks

  • Controls and links without a name, images without alt text, fields without a label, repeated ids.
  • Headings that skip a level, and the page's language.
  • Text contrast against the WCAG AA thresholds, from the colours the page actually renders.
  • Tap targets under 24 pixels on phones.
  • Speed: requests, bytes by kind, and when the page was ready and painted.

A GitHub Actions job runs it weekly with axe-core's full rule set as well, commits the report, and fails on any critical or serious issue. Its first run led to darker secondary text, labelled fields, larger tap targets on phones, a skip link and landmarks.
