From Chaipat's knowledge graph
FlaskPG is a development setup for Flask applications backed by PostgreSQL, run with Docker Compose. It is one of a family of Flask starters he wrote in spring 2024, alongside Flask Auth and 3Stack RFP.
What it sets up
- A Flask app with SQLAlchemy, whose database address comes from an environment variable. It falls back to in-memory SQLite, so it also runs without a database.
- The Werkzeug interactive debugger, switched on in development mode.
- Gunicorn as the production server, with its own configuration and start script.
- A management script for database tasks.
- A Makefile and a development environment file, so
makestarts the API and database together.
Flask-Login is wired in but left switched off, ready for an app that needs accounts.
